Local Biodiversity Program Background
Local Biodiversity Program Background

In August 2014, the Local Biodiversity Program (LBP) ceased as funding drew to close. Some of the tools and services are now being provided for a fee, but the technical advice to develop Local Biodiversity Strategies cannot be delivered at this point in time.

From 2001 to 2014, the Local Biodiversity Program (LBP) promoted and enabled long-term conservation of natural areas in regions of Western Australia subject to rapid development.

Through this time, the LBP provided Local Governments with expert and technical advice, data, and mapping to inform biodiversity planning and management, decision support tools and direct financial assistance.

A history of the LBP and everything that was achieved through this program is available in the booklet Celebrating Thirteen Years of Action for Biodiversity
